(Oct 7th)
This post is part of a series of short "postcard" posts that we will endeavor to post in real-time as we're at each destination. Bear with us as we attempt to catch up with our posts. Detailed posts will follow about each destination.
Today we toured Easter Island, visiting lots of Moai, the giant stone carved statues of human heads and torsos. The islanders cut the stone out of a hilltop and erected them in rows on stone platform serving as cemeteries. Some are 50 feet tall!
There's not loads to do on Easter Island, but plenty to fill up our three days here. Next stop Tahiti!
